Description
This is a mix of three wild mushrooms (Italian Porcini, Boletus Luteus from Chile, and Black Trumpet from the U.S.) and three cultivated mushrooms (Shiitake, Golden Oyster and Table Oyster mushrooms imported from Asia). Each variety is chosen for its unique flavor, color and texture to blend with each other and produce a delicious blend that will complement many dishes.
All these mushrooms are grown and harvested under 100% natural conditions then inspected, sliced and naturally air-dried with no chemicals or pesticides used in the growing or drying process. You will be amazed at the flavors this mix of mushrooms will add to your cooking. Your family and friends will enjoy the meals you prepare using this mushroom mix. Use them in rice dishes, stews, soups, gravies, stir-frys, spaghetti sauces or omelets.
These mushrooms range from MILD to STRONG on the Mushroom Flavor Scale.
All mushrooms contain substantial nutrients, including protein, enzymes, B vitamins (especially niacin), and vitamin D2. Mushrooms are excellent sources of antioxidants as they contain polyphenols and selenium, which are common in the plant world. But they also contain antioxidants that are unique to mushrooms, such as ergothioneine, which scientists are now beginning to recognize as a ‘master antioxidant.’
Directions:
Soak in hot water for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse and strain, then pat with a paper towel and use them as fresh.
Tips: 1 oz of dried mushrooms is equal to 8 oz fresh. Save the soak water for soups, stews and gravies. WOW it is packed with flavor! (Careful not to use sediment). Dried mushrooms are a great value for your dollar. Drying intensifies their flavor and they can stored indefinitely in your freezer.
*These dried mushrooms are harvested from the wild forests all over the world. When the mushrooms are sliced and Naturally Air Dried sometimes some grit or dirt is still on the dried mushroom. When you rehydrate the mushrooms in hot water this grit or dirt will sink to the bottom of the soak water. The soak water has tons of flavors in it we recommend using it in your cooking but be careful not to use any sediment, grit that sinks to the bottom.
