About Moka Joe Coffee
Our journey began in 2007 when Dan and Kirsti Mendum took a bold step into the coffee world. Armed with a roaster and a dream, they established Coyote Coffee Roasters in the picturesque town of Sandpoint, ID, and soon made their way to Anacortes, WA, where we continue to thrive today.
our Journey: From Coyote to Moka Joe
In 2011, we embraced an exciting opportunity to acquire Moka Joe Coffee Roasters, a beloved brand with a rich history dating back to 2000 from Bellingham, WA. This partnership expanded our reach and allowed us to enhance our offerings, including private label roasting for Coyote Coffee and Café Femenino. Our commitment to quality and ethical sourcing means you can savor our delicious brews while supporting coffee farmers around the globe.
Ethical Sourcing: Fair Trade Practices
At Moka Joe, we believe that coffee should be more than just a beverage—it should be a force for good. Our logo, depicting a strong figure advocating for coffee farmers’ rights, symbolizes our commitment to fair trade practices. By paying fair prices, we help ensure that farmers can provide for their families year after year.
We proudly serve over 100 “Mom and Pop” cafés and local grocery stores, including select Food Pavilion and Market Grocery locations, while sourcing fair trade organic coffee from around the world. Our mission is to empower producers in developing countries through better trading conditions and sustainable farming practices.
