About Miodo Chocolate
Kevin started making chocolate nearly 20-years ago after becoming intrigued with solving the mystery of how chocolate is made. A lot of trial, error and experimentation lead to what is now Miodo Chocolate. Along the way he passed out a lot of samples and always received a smile and a cheerful thank you. He realized that chocolate was a great way to spread happiness.
Miodo Chocolate is specially crafted from the finest organic, fair trade ingredients. They are passionate about making an authentic, pure chocolate and use beans from only a single-origin (a specific country, region, or farm) source. They never blend beans or use anything to cover or homogenize the taste.
Each batch of Miodo Chocolate is made from only 3 ingredients: single-origin cocoa beans, cocoa butter and pure cane sugar. They are committed to staying true to the complex, distinct flavors of our region-specific cocoa beans.
Cocoa beans are similar to wine grapes that take on characteristics of the region where they grow. The beans develop subtle flavors from the altitude, soils, and weather conditions of their home. Interestingly, those subtleties change year to year. Cocoa beans can be described in similar ways to wine- common descriptors include earthy, fruity, nutty, floral, herbal etc.
